- hydrofobní efekt zabraňuje průniku vlhkosti zvenku dovnitř, ale umožňuje vnitřní vlhkosti dostat sa ven
- překrývá vlasové trhliny až do šířky 0,3 mm
- snižuje tendenci ošetřených povrchů znečišťovat se
- zamezuje průniku vlhkosti do konstrukčních materiálů a brání vzniku solních výkvetů a růstu mechu a řas
